1st Shift CNC Machinist
JOB SUMMARY: Sets up and operates CNC machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as, cutting, drilling, reaming, and boring of metal products. Operator should be able to make adjustments to machine and adjust set ups per the work instructions for each item. TEMP Position The Machine Shop Operator is an hourly position subject to overtime pay, and reports to the Machine Shop Lead Person. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirementsMust set up machine by following parameters identified on work instructionsMeet or exceed production standards set to produce partsAccurately complete production recordsControl and adjust machine settings as requiredMount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machineSelect and install cutting tools in machineLoad and unload machineOperate machine with little supervisionMake manual adjustments to programs as requiredEnsure conformance of product to blueprint specifications, using precision instruments.Maintain required housekeeping-including the area around the machine, cleaning machine, tooling, and parts ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other duties as assignedAssist in mandatory annual physical inventorySet up peripheral equipment to do secondary operations, such as drillingMay be assigned to different workstations as production needs require The preceding examples are representative of assignments performed by this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand for an eight hour time periodAbility to lift from the floor to chest-height level, up to 50 lbsAbility to work in a non climate controlled environment JOB QUALIFICATIONS Ability to follow work instructionsAbility to understand and interpret work proceduresKnowledge of machineryBasic understanding of shop mathAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAt least 1 year's experience with Machine Shop Operations Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
