Telemetry Project Manager

Job DescriptionTitle: Telemetry Project ManagerDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: Portland, ORJob Description:The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, technical experience in telemetry systems, and experience with large-scale technology implementations. This role is critical to ensuring the successful deployment of an ongoing program to update and maintain telemetry sites across Oregon and Washington.REQUIREMENTS:Lead large, complex strategic projects, assuming accountability for delivering resultsManage projects, including Internal and External resourcesDevelop project plans, budgets, scope, timelines, outcomes, and deliverables using NWN PMO tools and templatesCollaborate with stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project goals, deliverables, and timelines.Act as a liaison between technical teams, operational teams, and executive stakeholders.Communicate technical concepts and progress to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.Ensure system reliability and security are addressed during the planning and execution phases.Execute procurement and contracting activities, tracking, and reporting according to NWN policies and procedures.Identify, manage, and resolve inter-project/program dependencies, working with other PMs and NWN stakeholdersConduct analyses to estimate and track project costs and budgetsDefine resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource managersManage vendor relationships to align vendor schedules, costs, and deliverables with the overall project planEnsure alignment of technical solutions with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.Establish, maintain, and update project risk log. Resolve project issues and escalate as appropriateManage project change control and follow existing policiesEnsure project-related documentation is accurate and complete RequirementsSkills & Qualifications:Thorough knowledge of project and program management theories, models, and techniquesExperience managing a program or volume of projects with competing schedulesDemonstrated success applying project management concepts and techniques across large, mission-critical projects/programsStrong communication and presentation skills across all levels of the organizationDemonstrated analytical skills, including problem solving and critical thinking, with attention to detailAbility to facilitate meetings and manage difficult conversations with tact and diplomacyAbility to gain and maintain credibility at all levels of the organizationUnderstanding of business process improvement and change management desiredMaster's degree in business, technology or related field preferredPMI or equivalent certification preferred7+ years of progressive project management leadership experienceFamiliarity with construction means and methods, jurisdictions and permitting requirementsAbility to write statements of work, ensuring scope matches site design and appropriate materials are planned forExperience with materials tracking, long lead purchasing coordination, materials and vendor invoice reviews and approvalsPower utility experience preferred
