Mechanical Engineer Senior

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s of science degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education Experience with mechanical design development and integration, especially in the area of spacecraft mechanisms. And we’re reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity.Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities may include some of the following: Work under limited direction of other mechanical engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for Lockheed Martin Space products. Functionally own specific mechanical systems and delegate tasks Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure. Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities. Generate and release drawings using CAD software. Be a member of multiple integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers. Represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards. Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to supervise the build and test of the hardware Perform stress analysis using basic hand calculations and finite element modelingDesired Skills Previous experience as a Certified Principle Engineer (CPE), or equivalent Creo and CAD data management (EPDM) experience Flight hardware experience Familiarity with Lockheed Martin specifications, tools, and procedures Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation Experience with test methods, planning and execution Experience working with other LM operating units Hands-on hardware experienceOther Important InformationBy applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match.
