This role serves as a key advisor for IAMD program management, delivering expertise in joint operational planning, exercise coordination, and coalition integration. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of air and missile defense operations and demonstrate proficiency in Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) methodologies.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Advisory SupportProvide consulting and advisory support for management of the IAMD programDeliver subject matter expertise on operational requirements for joint IAMD operationsSupport development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and Rules of Engagement (ROE) for joint/combined air and missile defense operationsProvide strategic planning and C2 (Command and Control) integration expertise during conferences and exercise planning eventsOperational Planning & DocumentationExecute JOPP-based planning and development of operational guides, Concept Plans (CONPLANs), appendices, and campaign plansBuild operational planning and country engagement budgets supporting Air Combat Command (ACC) and Combatant Command (COCOM)Develop Fiscal Year operational engagement proposals for ACC and COCOMReview current operations, plans, Air Force Instructions (AFIs), and joint publications to prepare briefings for ACC leadershipCoordination & IntegrationCoordinate with service components, higher headquarters, and coalition partners to implement integrated defense plansParticipate in all phases of regional IAMD exercisesCollaborate with Higher Headquarters (HHQ), joint and coalition partners on exercise development, execution, and interoperability assessmentsCreate and coordinate staff actions in the Task Management Tool (TMT)Assessment & EvaluationCreate assessment plans to evaluate IAMD objectives, interoperability, and integration within the COCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR)Report findings and recommendations to the division chiefProduce engagement situational reports, after-action reports, and conference summariesInput and analyze data in the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS)Event Management & ExecutionOrganize and conduct meetings, conferences, briefings, and site surveys for operational planningParticipate in COCOM and ACC exercises, planning conferences, and Video Teleconferences (VTCs)Deploy as required to support operational engagements, exercises, and planning conferencesAdministrative & Logistical SupportConduct administrative tasks including event scheduling, space reservations, and travel coordinationManage APACS (Automated Planning and Control System), TDY (Temporary Duty) funding requests, flight/travel arrangements, and other required actionsCoordinate all logistical requirements for exercises and planning eventsMinimum Qualifications0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.Certification: Completion of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Staff Officer Course within one year of hire (if not previously completed)Experience: Minimum one (1) year of Air Operations Center (AOC) or equivalent experience in an IAMD-related roleTechnical Proficiency: At least one (1) year of experience with Microsoft Office Suite and email systemsTravel Documents: Possession of a valid U.S. passport and ability to meet visa requirements for international travelAvailability: Ability to deploy on short notice to support operational requirementsSecurity Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance (required at time of hire)Preferred RequirementsAdvanced Education: Master's degree in Strategic Studies, International Relations, Military Science, or related fieldMilitary Experience:Prior military service as a rated officer in air defense, air operations, or related career fieldExperience serving in a COCOM or ACC staff positionCombat or operational deployment experienceCertifications:Completion of BMDS Staff Officer Course prior to applicationJoint Professional Military Education (JPME) Level I or IIAir and Space Operations Center (AOC) Weapons Director CourseAdvanced IAMD planning coursesOperational Experience:3+ years of experience in IAMD operations or planningExperience with Patriot, THAAD, Aegis, or other IAMD systemsPrevious experience supporting COCOM exercises or real-world operationsExperience in coalition or multinational operationsTechnical Skills:Proficiency with G-TSCMIS database managementExperience with Task Management Tool (TMT) or similar systemsFamiliarity with APACS and military travel systemsRegional Expertise: Knowledge of specific COCOM AORs (INDOPACOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM, etc.)Physical RequirementsAbility to deploy to austere or combat environments as requiredCapability to work extended hours during exercises and operational eventsAbility to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25% travel)Work may require sitting for extended periods during planning sessionsMust be able to work in secure facilities (SCIFs) as requiredThe listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities.
