Continuous Improvement Manager
DescriptionWhat you will doUphold a genuine regard for safety, ensuring employees understand and follow safety guidelines and recognizing individuals for their involvementDrive continuous improvement by spending time on the floor talking with operators, completing time studies, verifying/validating SOPs, etc.Lead projects by gathering information from hourly employees, creating tangible goals and deadlines, and reporting improvements to all employeesAlign with Department Managers on priority of projects and provides updatesAudit quality, safety, and environmental housekeeping proceduresFlexible to support a 24/7 operationBe highly organized and self-directed with an ability to prioritize projects, combined with the ability to provide and receive direction.Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly absorb new procedures and new industry advancements.Education / professional backgroundFour-year technical/Bachelor’s degree or Continuous Improvement Practitioner training with relevant work experience applying continuous improvement methodologies in manufacturing requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, to work with manufacturing operations personnel throughout the levels of the organizationMust have strong analytical and problem-solving skillsGeneral knowledge of manufacturing, including the desired properties and quality standards for productsMust have strong time management skills to handle multiple ongoing projects in addition to day-to-day process problemsOvercome obstacles and setbacks and react with positivity and optimism in the face of unforeseen challengesSolid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, Share Point, and the ability to quickly learn software needed to perform job specific duties.Flexible Packaging Industry experience (Flexo printing, extrusion lamination, and/or converting) is a plus, but not required.Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferredWhat We Have To OfferOpportunity to be part of a dynamic and highly motivating work environment where you can develop your potential and launch an exciting careerDevelopment opportunities where your input makes a difference.
