Machinist I Polish Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG) is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.Today, ECG has four facilities located throughout PA. We are currently seeking a full-time Machinist I for polish position at Ellwood National Crankshaft Services and Ellwood Crankshaft and Machine both in Hermitage, PA. This non-exempt position may be required to work rotating shifts, 12-hour schedules and overtime as needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :High school diploma or GEDAbility to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and/or diagrammatic formsFamiliar with general computer applicationsAbility to communicate clearly and distinctly both verbally and in writingAbility to read blueprints and written directionThorough understanding of manufacturing and manufacturing processes preferredAbility to use various measuring instruments, including micrometers and snap gaugesPrior machining ability preferred but not necessaryMechanical ability a plusStrong math skillsAbility to work well with a team and independentlyDetailed oriented with the ability to organize and prioritizeStrong analytical skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilitiesResults oriented with a strong desire to succeedAbility to work a variety of work schedules and overtime as requiredRESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:Measure and prepare final dimensions of finished crankshaftsIdentify and make required adjustments with the correct abrasive material to bring the crankshaft to final product dimension and finish, including lapping, belt polishing, benching and hand workingLoad and unload machine with aid of an overhead craneInstall counterweights as neededLubricate machines, check and fill reservoirs, etc. dailyMaintain working area in a clean, orderly and safe conditionReport defective material to inspection immediatelyObserve all safety rules and regulationsPerform other duties as deemed necessaryPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
