Director of Education

The Director of Education leads the development, implementation, and growth of all education programs, outreach initiatives, and scholarship activities for the American Royal. This role is responsible for expanding mission-based learning opportunities, cultivating partnerships across the education and agriculture communities, and ensuring high-quality experiences for students, educators, and stakeholders. The Director will also support donor engagement related to education and scholarship initiatives and contribute to long-range strategic planning.ResponsibilitiesEducation and OutreachPlan, direct and oversee implementation of educational programs and outreach events. This includes development of new and existing virtual learning and in-person events.Lead the development and evaluation of current and new mission-based initiatives.Develop Relationships to expand education programs through outreach events with area organizations and schools.Serve as event lead for School Tours & Field Trips as they exist today while expanding the breadth and scope of offerings in this space.Direct and expand immersive education experiences including Ag STEM camp and Career Development offerings.Plan and execute annual budgets for educational activities and the Museum and contribute to Sponsor solicitation and cultivation as it relates to Education and Mission centric activities.Develop and maintain working relationships with education- related stakeholders including local school districts, Agriculture in the Classroom representatives, university extension, and agriculture education professionals.Consult with Education and Historical Preservation Committees to develop long-range strategic plans and support Volunteer contributions.Develop and manage all program strategy alongside Competitive Events Coordinator and work with the Chief Financial Officer on the Scholarship Fund. This includes Royal Scholars, Veterinary Scholars and other scholarships awarded through competitive events.Responsible for development and management of all policies and procedures necessary to support education programs for the American Royal.Provide necessary support for foundational giving and donor relations to support the areas of education and scholarship.Organizational SupportProvide support for all American Royal Association events when necessary.People ManagementWhile this role currently has no direct reports, it may include supervisory responsibilities in the future as programs expand.Lead and coordinate volunteers and committee members involved in education and scholarship activities.Requirements7-10 years in teaching, corporate training, training curriculum development, or education related workMaster's degree in education or equivalent work experiencePreferred industry experience: general agricultural, natural resources, nutrition, farming, or ag education/policyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood working knowledge of budget and accounting practicesJ-18808-Ljbffr
