Financial Planning and Analysis Manager (Reston)
Overview We are seeking a high-impact FP&A Manager to serve as the primary finance partner to the IT organization . This individual will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, guiding investment decisions, and driving performance across a complex and evolving technology function. This is a strategic + hands-on role that combines financial planning, modeling, stakeholder partnership, and operational execution. Key Responsibilities Strategic Business Partnering Serve as the lead financial advisor to IT leadership , influencing key decisions Translate financial insights into actionable recommendations for non-finance stakeholders Challenge assumptions and drive accountability across the IT organization FP&A Ownership Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning for IT Manage full IT P&L including OpEx and CapEx oversight Deliver variance analysis with clear business insights and recommendations Modeling & Decision Support Build financial models for ROI analysis, investment decisions, and scenario planning Evaluate technology initiatives, vendor spend, and project performance Support strategic planning and prioritization of IT investments Performance Monitoring & Reporting Develop KPIs and dashboards to track IT financial and operational performance Deliver executive-level reporting and insights Monitor trends and proactively identify risks/opportunities Process Improvement & Systems Drive automation, standardization, and efficiency across finance processes Partner on system implementations and financial tool enhancements Improve reporting accuracy, speed, and scalability Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 7–10+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities Experience managing large expense portfolios (OpEx/CapEx) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred: Experience supporting IT or technology organizations Exposure to ERP/planning tools (Anaplan, Adaptive, PeopleSoft) Experience with BI tools (Power BI, etc.) CPA, CFA, or MBA What Success Looks Like Trusted advisor to IT leadership Clear, actionable insights that influence decisions Improved financial processes and reporting efficiency Strong partnership across Finance and IT
