The Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is seeking an Annually Contracted Faculty member to join the Unmanned Aerial Systems Department beginning Fall 2026.
Sinclair Community College offers one of the most comprehensive Aviation Technology programs in the nation which includes Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in Aviation Technology/Professional Pilot and Unmanned Aerial Systems. Sinclair's bachelor's and associate degrees and technical certificate programs prepare graduates for careers as commercial fixed wing and helicopter pilots, aircraft mechanics, flight attendants, aircraft dispatchers, aviation managers and unmanned aerial systems operators and technicians.
Annually Contracted Faculty (ACF) appointments are full-time, temporary positions limited to one academic year. Appointments are not automatically awarded for subsequent years, but rather, are awarded on a year-by-year basis at the sole discretion of Sinclair Community College.
All full-time faculty salaries are determined by the Provost's Office and are commensurate with education and experience.

Principal Accountabilities
Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
Maintain accurate records of student progress
Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester for both fall and spring semesters
This is equivalent to a 40 hour work week
Work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college
Participate in department, division and college-wide meetings
Maintain office hours and respond to student inquiries in a timely and effective manner
Curriculum Design which may focus on individual classes or modules, on segments of a program, or an entire course of study
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in aviation, aeronautics, UAS, or related field required, master's degree preferred OR must meet the specific requirements associated with the following:
Tested Experience:
Minimum of an associate's degree in content area or related field required
Possess a widely accepted license or certification in the industry required
To be considered, candidates must upload images of both the front and back of their FAA license in the Licensure/Certification section of the application
FAA pilot certificate (private, commercial, or instructor) preferred
UAS pilot or cred experience preferred
Must be a US Citizen for ITAR compliance required
Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a diverse college community
Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
