Job Description Job Opening: Family Medicine Residency Program Faculty PhysicianOur organization, a community-based teaching hospital with 155 beds located in Southwest Georgia, is seeking a Family Medicine Residency Program Faculty Physician. We welcome applications from both seasoned physicians and recent graduates interested in a non-ACGME accredited academic fellowship, with a start date in 2025.About the Opportunity:Candidates should possess a strong passion for medical education and academic leadership.This role serves as excellent preparation for those aiming to teach family medicine or gain essential GME experience for future leadership positions in primary care.The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM.On average, the position includes two clinic days, one precepting day, and dedicated administrative time for GME education each week.Some on-call duties are required, primarily during work hours or scheduled home call after hours to support residents.No overnight call is necessary unless the physician opts to engage in optional OB or inpatient adult medicine coverage.The patient volume is approximately 10-12 patients per half-day in the clinic.Utilization of Meditech EMR is expected.Responsibilities include providing direct patient care in the clinic and educating residents through precepting; prior faculty experience is not mandatory, but a willingness to deliver comprehensive family medicine care is essential, including a basic understanding of OB (performance is not required).Additional faculty responsibilities involve enhancing educational content and experiences by creating and delivering lectures during didactic sessions, collaborating with fellow faculty on program initiatives, and supporting program development and innovation.Compensation and Benefits:A competitive guaranteed salary will be offered, based on experience.A comprehensive benefits package includes student loan repayment, paid health insurance in exchange for precepting residents and medical students, paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage, and optional participation in a supplemental benefits package as a W-2 hospital employee.
