Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 in Colorado Springs.DutiesOur Individual and Family Specialist are part of our Behavioral Health team and provide Supervised Family Visitations, Life Skills, Advocacy, Coaching, Community Support, Mentoring, and Behavioral Strategies serving families, individuals, and youth.Population We ServeChildren currently living in an out of home placement with the goal of returning home to their families. Parents working towards the return of their children needing support and parenting skills development to better care for and meet the needs of their children.Work EnvironmentFamily Visitations are usually held in one of our visitation rooms. Visits may occur in other locations.Documentation can be completed remotely.Flexible full-time schedule with availability Mon-Sat 9am-7:30pm.Position requires some travel and transportation of clients.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong crisis management skillsKnowledge of behavioral health principles and techniquesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm and composed in high-stress situationsAttention to detail and ability to observe and assess situations accuratelyFlexibility to adapt to changing needs and prioritiesMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma with one year of experience in the Human Services Field and/or Peer Certification.Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice or similar.
