We are also proud of our commitment to expand opportunities for people in underrepresented communities.Position OverviewThe Construction Inspector will support a federal non-personal services contract providing Construction Management (CM) and Quality Assurance (QA) services for DHS/ICE projects. This role involves oversight of construction activities, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality control processes across a variety of government projects.Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Inspection and Oversight• Interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents• Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirements• Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities, including equipment operators and mechanics• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental compliance standardsQuality Assurance (QA) and Control• Monitor and enforce the 3-phase control process (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up phases)• Attend preparatory and initial-phase meetings and conduct follow-up inspections• Verify contractor documentation, including:o Meeting minuteso Daily Construction Quality Control (CQC) reports• Ensure the contractor effectively implements and maintains the CQC programProject Coordination and Documentation• Perform design and submittal reviews• Track deficiencies and ensure resolution• Log, review, and distribute submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs)• Prepare QA reports and maintain project documentation files• Support development of Scopes of Work (SOW)• Assist with construction cost estimatingTesting and Compliance Monitoring• Monitor and document:o Material testing complianceo System testing and commissioning• Ensure completion of as-built drawings and project closeout documentationMeetings and Reporting• Attend weekly and monthly QA meetings• Participate in contractor meetings regarding scheduling, claims, and project issues• Provide recommendations, analyses, and reports to ICE OAFM personnelWork Environment and Expectations• Must be willing to travel and perform extended site visits (2+ weeks)• Projects may require assignments in multiple states or territories• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision• Capable of meeting tight deadlines under expedited project schedules• Remote work may be required depending on assignmentProject TypesProjects may include:• New construction and renovation (design-bid-build and design-build)• Maintenance and administrative facilities• Detention housing and dormitory facilities• Training facilities• Specialized projects such as:o Body Worn Camera (BWC) warehouse renovationso Armory relocations/consolidationso Restroom expansionso Microgrid installationsProjects may involve multiple disciplines, including:• Security systems• Communications• Electrical power upgrades• Fire detection and protection systemsPotential Work LocationsAssignments may include (but are not limited to):• San Juan, PR (Antilles Facility)• St. Croix / St. Thomas (USVI)• Fort Moore, GA• Miami, FL (Krome Service Processing Center)• Port Isabel, TX• El Paso, TX• El Centro, CAAdditional Expectations• Provide guidance and support to government field offices• Identify and report design or constructability issues• Deliver professional recommendations that may influence government decision-making• Maintain accountability for high-quality, timely deliverablesMinimum Requirements10-15 years of relevant construction inspection experienceU.S. Citizenship (required)OSHA certification (required)Ability to pass a DHS/ICE security background checkStrong proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English (Spanish is a plus)BENEFITS:Cube Root Corporation offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:• Medical, dental, and vision insurance• Short-term and long-term disability coverage• Life and ADD insurance• 401(k) retirement plan• Paid time off• Strong career growth opportunitiesEqual Opportunity EmployerCube Root Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE AA M/F/VET/DISABILITY).
