Generator Controls Field Engineer
Job Description: Participate as a Regional Service Team member responsible for providing the best service for our customers across the USA
Manage all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property.
Execute retrofit projects including installation, power up, and commissioning of excitation control solutions
Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of a power equipment outage
Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address complicated manufacturing processes
Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Power generation, generator controls, and or turbine controls)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
Ability to travel for weeks at a time; 50% travel as required
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills
