Position: Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Durham, NCShift: 1st Shift – Mon to Fri - 9am to 5pmEmployment: Contract to HirePay Rate: Competitive, based on experiencePosition DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations and upkeep of commercial facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong multi-trade maintenance experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across building systems, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective repairs on building systems, equipment, and infrastructureTroubleshoot and repair issues across multiple trades, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenanceConduct routine inspections of facilities, assets, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and complianceExecute minor electrical repairs (fixtures, switches, outlets, lighting components) in accordance with safety regulationsComplete plumbing repairs, including leak fixes, fixture replacements, and drain maintenancePerform carpentry and painting work, including drywall repair and finishing to maintain a professional facility appearanceMaintain cleanliness of facilities through light groundskeeping and housekeeping dutiesAccurately document work orders, time tracking, and maintenance activities using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Source and manage materials and supplies needed to complete assigned tasksParticipate in safety training programs and adhere to all workplace safety standards and compliance requirementsBuild positive working relationships through professional, customer-facing interactionsRequired Skills/EducationHigh School Diploma, GED, or completion of a technical/trade school program (or equivalent experience)2–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or mechanical repairHands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systemsFamiliarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS platforms (Corrigo experience is a plus)Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety procedures, and work ordersProficiency using mobile devices (tablets, smartphones) for work order managementStrong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholdersValid driver’s license (if applicable)Preferred QualificationsExperience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenanceBasic knowledge of HVAC systems and troubleshootingExposure to compliance standards and safety regulationsAbout Seneca ResourcesAt Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm—we are a trusted career partner.
