Stamping Die Design Analyst

You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.Drive "Voice of Manufacturing" throughout product development lifecycle to ensure robust, feasible, and manufacturable casting assembly designs.Conduct early casting process feasibility evaluation in an integrated CAD/CAE environment and coordinate between product development and manufacturing teams to lead resolution of manufacturing feasibility concerns.Participate in the development and evaluation of prototype and production manufacturing cast processes with suppliers.ResponsibilitiesReviewing and approving Die Designs to ensure they meet WDX standards, die safety requirements, WDX materials/standard components, automation clearances and press requirements.Manage/Lead Die Design Vendor at start of new die set, updating designs for engineering/process changes and supporting die construction and production plant requirements.Work with Die Vendor and Die Process/Automation teams to collaborate on a solution that will work for all parties and give most robust solution for Ford Motor Co.Feedback and incorporate Lessons Learned from previous launch captured issues.Provide feedback and drive for best in class die standards to help develop/improve our Die Vendors and Construction Source success.Lead and guide Virtual Pattern Reviews and give direction accordingly.Manage multiple die designs to help Die Vendors meet our standards and meet their aggressive timing.Organize and lead plant die design reviews for all new dies with appropriate stamping plants.Work with construction sources to eliminate or improve die construction issues up-front or when reviewing/approving.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma10 years of die design experience or die design leaderExtensive knowledge Ford WDX Die Standards and Ford die design deliverablesAdvanced knowledge of die construction and machining practicesUnderstanding of die materials and treatment processes per applicationKnowledgeable in TeamcenterKnowledge of SMIRT and SMIRT deliverables for Construction SourceExpert in Catia V5 assemblies and parametrizationsUnderstanding of Microsoft 365 and OneDriveSelf-starter with abilities to manage multiple items and prioritize accordingly based on promise dates and urgencyReverse engineer solutions to process or die design concerns/issuesPreferred Qualifications:Preferred 4-year college degree or equivalent experiencePreferred 5 years Die Construction, and/or tryout experience or troubleshootingYou may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
