Color, Material, & Finish Specialist
We are expanding the CMF team within Brand & Design by creating a new role of CMF Materials Specialist in the US to anchor the expertise and capability for North America (as part of the global Brand & Design CMF team). This role supports our CMF material color consistency and sustainability ambitions across a broad range professional products. This role reports to the Head of CMF Design (within Brand & Design). Key interfaces include ID, Sustainability, Product management, R&D, Operations, Sourcing, External agencies, and networks.
Responsibilities
Be a key member of global CMF Design team, anchored within a key R&D and production site
Primary responsibility will be to ensure all new product development follows an established CMF process and strategy.
Work effectively with R&D, operations, and quality teams.
Work across all Professional and Consumer products.
Have strong knowledge of various manufacturing processes including injection molding, roto molding, metals, and paints.
Help implement and enforce a color approval process, global color and material catalogue, quality control process and support information sharing between R&D and manufacturing centers to ensure CMF consistency across global manufacturing sites.
Create an overview of CMF needs to help standardize.
A global material expert with a global vision to help development.
An excellent communicator who helps all new developments and ensures data is archived accordingly.
Align process, standardize tools and equipment and documentation.
Work closely with global CMF team
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience with CMF (design, strategy, execution, etc.)
Material and process expertise.
Project management skills.
Strong knowledge of R&D, sourcing, production, and quality.
Material expert in plastic and in-depth knowledge of coating technology.
Manufacturing knowledge, roto, injection, surface finishes and coatings.
Material and process strategy working towards sustainability targets.
