Payroll Specialist (6150)

itD is seeking a Payroll Specialist to oversee and execute accurate, timely payroll processing. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations while delivering excellent support to employees. The ideal candidate has experience managing payroll in environments with commissions or variable compensation and is comfortable working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Sales.Location: RemotePay Rate: Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, unlimited PTO, and more.Please note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.ResponsibilitiesProcess bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timelinessCalculate sales commission payments based on company compensation plansValidate commission data in coordination with Sales and Finance teamsMaintain and update payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits deductions, and commission structuresReview and verify timekeeping and sales and commission data for completeness and accuracyEnsure compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and company policiesCalculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions as neededManage payroll taxes, filings, and year-end reporting, including W-2sCoordinate with HR and Finance teams on employee data and benefits administrationRespond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, commissions, deductions, and discrepanciesAssist with audits and provide documentation as requiredIdentify opportunities to improve payroll and commission processes and systemsInternal ResponsibilitiesAttend regular internal practice community meetingsCollaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadershipComplete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material)Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practiceAttend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual)Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunitiesRequired Qualifications And SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of payroll processing experience, including commission-based compensationStrong knowledge of payroll laws and regulationsExperience with payroll software such as Paycom, Rippling, or similar systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data managementHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionPreferred Qualifications And SkillsCertified Payroll Professional (CPP) designationExperience in multi-state payroll processingFamiliarity with HRIS and commission tracking systemsEducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.Company DescriptionAbout itD: We are part of a new generation of consulting and software development company that blends diversity, innovation, and integrity with real business results.
