Key Engineering RoleThis is a key engineering role that will bring software engineering and integration expertise and will be critical for the successful and timely delivery of a very key business critical solution. In this role, you will be designing and implementing a robust, scalable, and maintainable software solution that will integrate with internal and external third-party applications. You will collaborate closely with product stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to transform high-level architectural requirements into actionable, technical solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine detailed technical designTranslate business and architecture requirements into clear, implementable low-level designsProduce design documentation, interface contracts, and technical estimatesDesign and develop cloud-native applicationsBuild scalable, resilient, and maintainable services using Java and AWSApply modern architecture patterns for distributed systems and enterprise platformsDevelop event-driven and API-based solutionsDesign and implement asynchronous workflows using event-driven architectureBuild secure, well-documented APIs and service integrationsWork with serverless and containerized workloadsDevelop solutions using AWS Lambda, containers, and orchestration platforms such as ECS or EKSChoose the right runtime model based on performance, scale, and cost considerationsImplement distributed system best practicesEnsure reliability, fault tolerance, observability, and scalabilityAddress concerns such as retries, idempotency, latency, and consistencyCollaborate across teams and rolesPartner with architects, product managers, and technical team members to shape technical solutionsContribute to design reviews and key design decision-makingPartner with Quality Assurance engineer to plan, develop, automate, and execute software testingFollow engineering best practicesWrite clean, testable, and maintainable codeLeverage available AI based coding toolsParticipate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and release processesSupport application performance and operationsMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systemsInvestigate defects, incidents, and performance issues in collaboration with support and operations teamsEnsure security and complianceFollow secure coding practices and cloud security standardsApply least-privilege access, secrets management, and data protection controlsMentor and guide team membersShare technical knowledge and support junior and mid-level engineersHelp raise the overall engineering quality of the teamNon-functional RequirementsEnsure all developed software meets non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, maintainability, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Qualifications/ What You Bring (Must Haves)Experience: 7+ years of software developmentEssential SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented designExperience designing and building cloud-native applicationsPractical experience with AWS services and architectureExperience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, or EventBridgeExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIsExperience with microservices or distributed service-oriented systemsExperience with Docker and container-based developmentStrong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CDTop 3 Preferred SkillsStrong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to define detailed design and translate requirements into technical solutionsFamiliarity with security best practices, IAM, encryption, and secrets managementExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or PuppetEducation RequirementsBachelor of Engineering (Computer Science)Diverse Lynx LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
