If so, we're looking for a Commercial HVAC Start-Up & Test Mechanic Replacement to play a critical role in commissioning high-profile commercial projects.This position is more than start-upit's about ownership, expertise, and delivering confidence to customers when systems go live.What You'll DoAs a key player in our commercial operations, you will:Perform start-up, testing, adjustment, and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, split systems, VRF/VRV, air handlers, VAV systems, pumps, and controlsVerify installations prior to start-up and identify deficiencies or punch list itemsTest system performance and coordinate balancing activitiesConfigure, calibrate, and validate controls, sensors, safeties, and sequences of operationDocument start-up data, test results, and equipment settings with precisionCollaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Controls Technicians, and Field Mechanics to resolve issues efficientlyCoordinate with equipment manufacturers and factory representatives when requiredEnsure compliance with mechanical codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standardsTroubleshoot system issues during commissioning and support resolutionAssist with customer training and system turnover documentationMaintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite environmentWhat You BringStrong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and componentsAbility to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and control schematicsProficiency with testing instruments, gauges, meters, and diagnostic toolsWorking knowledge of HVAC controls and BAS systemsExcellent troubleshooting, time management, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with accurate documentation habitsProfessional communication skills and the ability to work independentlyExperience & Education5+ years of commercial HVAC field experience (start-up/commissioning preferred)Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experienceValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPreferred CertificationsEPA Universal CertificationOSHA 10Manufacturer start-up or commissioning certifications (Trane, Carrier, Daikin, etc.)Controls or commissioning certifications a plusPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Comfortable working on rooftops, ladders, and in confined spacesAbility to stand, walk, kneel, and work in varying weather conditionsBenefits & PerksAt GSM Services, we believe in taking great care of our teamon and off the job.
