As a Lighting Technician A, you will work from aerial devices, ladders, and ground level to install and maintain streetlights and related equipment. *Perks* * Benefit Package including Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage * 401K w/ Company Match * Voluntary Life & AD&D Insurance and Short-Term and Long-Term Disability * Vacation/Sick Time and Paid Holidays * Career Development Opportunities * Weekly Payroll *Responsibilities* * Safely work on energized electrical systems up to 600 volts, including utility poles and fixtures. * Excavate to install structures or cables per contract specifications. * Participate in medium to large-scale lighting construction projects. * Install lighting power systems. * Read prints to identify and isolate protection circuits. * Communicate work plans with public and private property owners. * Maintain a safe and clean worksite. * Assist junior technicians with lighting construction and maintenance tasks. * Adhere to safety performance standards. * Willingness to be available for emergency storm work. * Perform additional duties as directed by leadership. *Education, Skills, Experience Needed* * Minimum of one year’s experience in lighting construction. * Proficient in working with energized low-voltage systems, demonstrating specialized skills. * Skilled in identifying, operating, and maintaining all necessary tools and equipment (e.g., bucket truck, derrick truck, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel). * Capable of climbing various structures and own the necessary climbing equipment. * Strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges on any project. * Comprehensive understanding of all lighting work activities. * Understand basic electricity. * CDL preferred, valid driver’s license, DOT Medical Card is required. *Working Environment* * Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions. * All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English. * Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling. * Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment. * Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. *Requirements* * Minimum of one year’s experience in lighting construction. * Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens * Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify * Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results * CDL preferred, valid driver’s license, DOT Medical Card is required. * Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card This job description is subject to change at any time.
