Data Engineering Intern – US (Remote)Position: Data Engineering InternLocation: United States – RemoteEmployment Type: InternshipAbout the OpportunityWe are hiring a Data Engineering Intern on behalf of one of our clients in the United States. This opportunity is designed for individuals who want practical exposure to modern data engineering practices and are interested in building the technical foundation required to work with large-scale data systems.The selected candidate will work alongside technical teams on data preparation, pipeline development, database management, and cloud-based data workflows while gaining experience with tools and technologies commonly used in professional data environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing and maintaining reliable data pipelines for collecting and processing structured and unstructured data.Work with different data sources to perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading (ETL/ELT).Support the development of scalable workflows for transferring data between databases, applications, and cloud platforms.Prepare and transform raw datasets into structured formats suitable for analytics and reporting.Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and validation.Assist with database operations, including schema design, data organization, and performance improvements.Contribute to automated data workflows using Python and relevant data engineering frameworks.Monitor pipeline execution and assist in identifying issues related to data quality, processing failures, and system performance.Implement basic data validation and quality checks to improve the accuracy and consistency of datasets.Work with cloud-based storage and data processing environments as part of assigned projects.Assist in documenting data workflows, pipeline configurations, database structures, and technical processes.Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, developers, and other technical stakeholders to understand data requirements.Participate in troubleshooting activities and contribute to improving the reliability and efficiency of existing data processes.Stay updated with emerging practices in cloud data engineering, distributed processing, automation, and modern data architectures.Required Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python or another programming language used for data processing.Familiarity with fundamental ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline architecture.Understanding of databases, data structures, and data modeling principles.Exposure to platforms or technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is advantageous.Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts is preferred.Familiarity with Git, version control, or collaborative development practices is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to understand technical requirements and work independently on assigned tasks.Good communication and documentation skills.What You Will GainPractical exposure to real-world data engineering workflows and projects.Experience working with modern databases, data pipelines, and cloud technologies.Understanding of how organizations build and manage data infrastructure.Opportunities to strengthen your SQL, Python, ETL, cloud, and data architecture skills.Experience collaborating within a professional technology environment.Hands-on project experience that can strengthen your technical portfolio and professional profile.Guidance and exposure to industry-oriented development practices.
