Optometric assistants’ job duties range from Medical to Technical to Clerical.
Higher Pay with experience.
The pay is also negotiable.
Responsibilities:
Checking patients in and out
Administering patient pre-screening tests
Training patients on contact lens use
Ordering and selling contact lenses.
Maintain CL trials
Scheduling appointments
Helping front desk
Verifying Insurances
Scribing
Expected to abide by HIPAA Standards
Experience with the using:
Vision-Care equipment typical in an optometrist office
Vital sign equipment (e.g., blood pressure)
Computer programs for patient record keeping

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED or a Bachelors Degree
Prior experience in the optometric field (Preferred not required)
Working knowledge of optical diagnostic equipment
Friendly demeanor and professional appearance a must
Experience with medical terminology, working with standard equipment (such as blood pressure monitors) and interacting with patients is a plus

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
