The ideal candidate must have direct billing experience in women's health / OB/GYN and be highly proficient in athenahealth. This role requires strong knowledge of medical billing workflows, insurance follow-up, denial management, payment posting, claims resolution, and patient account management specific to an OB/GYN setting.Key Responsibilities:Submit clean claims accurately and timely through athenahealthReview and resolve claim rejections and denialsFollow up with insurance companies on unpaid or underpaid claimsPost insurance and patient payments accuratelyWork aging reports and outstanding ARReview patient accounts for billing accuracy and follow-up needsHandle billing corrections, resubmissions, and appealsCommunicate with front desk, clinical staff, and management to resolve billing issuesMaintain compliance with payer rules and billing regulationsHelp improve collections, reduce denials, and optimize revenue cycle performanceRequired Qualifications:Minimum [5] years of medical billing experience in an OB/GYN practiceStrong working knowledge of athenahealthExperience with:Insurance claim submission and follow-upDenial management and appealsPayment postingPatient balances and account reviewEligibility and benefits verificationOB/GYN coding and billing workflowsUnderstanding of commercial insuranceKnowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding relevant to OB/GYNStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced practicePreferred Qualifications:Experience billing for:Obstetric global billingGynecologic proceduresSurgical claimsUltrasound and in-office proceduresFamiliarity with prior authorizations, claim edits, and payer-specific billing requirementsCredentialing or revenue cycle support experience is a plusSkills and Attributes:Strong knowledge of OB/GYN billingHigh proficiency in athenahealthOrganized, dependable, and detail-orientedStrong problem-solving and follow-throughProfessional communication skillsAble to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all timesCompensation:Competitive pay based on experienceBenefits: Medical, Dental, PTO, Retirement plansHow to ApplyPlease send your resume and a brief summary of your OB/GYN billing experience, including your level of experience with athenahealth , to michael@whgchicago.com
