Overview Join our dynamic team as a Low Voltage, Cable Technician specializing in Structured Cabling and Telecom systems. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of low-voltage wiring and communication systems, including CAT6 cabling, fiber optic systems, and telecommunications infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure seamless network connectivity and communication solutions for our clients, supporting their business operations with precision and reliability. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems including CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cables according to schematics and industry standards. Pull cables through ceilings, walls, conduits, and cable trays using power tools and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols. Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical wiring, network cabling, telecommunication systems, and equipment using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and network testers. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure optimal data transmission performance. Configure and test network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, VoIP systems, and telephony hardware to ensure proper operation. Conduct site surveys utilizing schematics and technical drawings to plan cable routes and identify potential installation challenges. Assist with the setup of communication systems such as CCTV cameras, radio frequency (RF) testing, and telecommunication testing equipment to verify system integrity. Requirements Proven experience in structured cabling installation, cable pulling, termination (Cat5/Cat6), and telecommunications wiring. Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques, fiber optic systems installation, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints for accurate system installation. Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network testers, and telecommunications testing equipment. Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems including AC/DC power supplies used in communication setups. Skilled in the use of hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers) and power tools necessary for cable installation.
