Chaplain Associate-On-Call

As the Chaplain, you perform an important link in that mission by offering spiritual care for patients, families, volunteers, hospital and medical staff.If you see your ministry as bringing strength and compassion to patients and those who assist them, you may be a perfect fit for the Legacy community.ResponsibilitiesAs a collaborative member of the healthcare team, the Chaplain Associate shall provide spiritual care for patients, families, volunteers, hospital and medical staff; participate in departmental activities as required; perform all duties in ways promoting organizational and departmental missions and values. This job is to be undertaken by employees working unpredictable and irregular hours.Key Responsibilities:Plans and organizes daily spiritual care for persons in assigned areas.Shares responsibility for pastoral requests within 15-30 minutes after notification for trauma, crisis and emergency ministry.Initiates, responds, follows up and cooperates with hospital and other team members for comprehensive and continuum of care of persons.Provides worship opportunities, rites and sacraments for patients, families and staff.Pastoral care is available for all hospital personnel according to established departmental guidelines.Consults appropriately with community clergy, congregations and agencies, as related to ministry with patients and families.Serves as pastoral resource for educational programs of department, hospital and community when applicable.Complies with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.QualificationsEducation:* Bachelor's Degree required.* Professional Theological Degree, e.g. M.Div., MTS, BD, desirable, and/or one unit of ACPE Certified Clinical Pastoral Education, or equivalent, required, with one-year ACPE Certified Clinical Pastoral Education desirable.Experience:* One year of full-time Pastoral experience, or equivalent.Skills:Spiritual perspectives and sensitivity to persons in stress.Ability to listen well and speak with individuals and small groups.Theological competence.Skill with interdisciplinary team cooperation.Excellent communication skills.Skill with interfaith cooperation.Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.Licensure* Endorsement by Judicatory or equivalent.* Certification by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or similar cognate group, desirable.Pay RangeUSD $32.31 - USD $46.20 /Hr.Our Commitment to Health and Equal OpportunityOur Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
