Shipping Lead

Job Description Description:The Norplex Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of finished goods and materials. This role provides hands-on leadership to the shipping team, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met while maintaining strong alignment with production, inventory, and customer service.Requirements:Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily shipping and receiving operations, including scheduling, prioritization, and workflow coordinationEnsure all outbound shipments are accurate, properly packaged, labeled, and shipped on timeCoordinate with production, customer service, and logistics to meet delivery requirements and customer expectationsSupervise and support shipping associates, including training, task assignment, and performance feedbackVerify shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperworkMaintain accurate inventory records for finished goods and shipping materialsOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment as neededEnsure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company proceduresMonitor shipping KPIs such as on-time delivery, accuracy, and freight cost controlIdentify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors or delaysAssist with cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activitiesQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required2–5 years of shipping, logistics, or warehouse experience (manufacturing environment preferred)1–2 years of informal or formal leadership experience preferredForklift certification or ability to obtain certification requiredExperience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skillsCore CompetenciesLeadership and team coordinationAccuracy and attention to detailTime management and urgencyAccountability and ownershipSafety-first mindsetContinuous improvement orientationWork EnvironmentThis role is based in a warehouse or manufacturing shipping area and requires standing, lifting, and operating material handling equipment.
