General Manager GM (Dog Daycare & Boarding)
At least 2 years in the Animal Care Industry Required. Previous managerial experience preferred.
The pay scale will be based on Experience and qualifications.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The General Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations of the business, which includes the operating units within the organization. The General Manager will oversee and the work of all departments while making sure that appropriate procedures and policies are in place.
The General Manager is responsible for the leadership and functionality of the department supervisors to make sure that the business runs smoothly, efficiently and profitably.The General Manager will also work to ensure that employee morale is high and that customer satisfaction is maintained at a high level.
The General Manager shall demonstrate an ability to resolve conflict, handle work pressures in a professional manner, have a focus on a high level of customer satisfaction, and show leadership qualities that inspire others to exceed expectations.
Specific job functions of the General Manager include, but are not limited to:
Take a leadership role in carrying out the mission and goals of the business, as well as take an active role in establishing company goals.
Establish standards for elevation and maintenance of high level of customer satisfaction.
Assist with payroll processing.
Monitoring and creating KPIs and assisting with budgets and forecasting.
Development of a remarkable workforce by planning, coaching and overseeing career development opportunities.
Effectively staff each department including interviewing and hiring/firing as necessary.
Monitor and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
Develop, review and adjust department organization and workflow processes to improve overall operational efficiency.
Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability while providing meaningful feedback.
Establish and maintain a formal feedback system within each department.
Manage lobby inventory and pricing, office supplies and other supplies and materials necessary for operations.
Oversee the maintenance of office supply inventory.
Maintain proper employee personnel records.
Keep up with the latest industry trends and apply/implement within the company to improve operations, profitability, sales, etc.
Work with owner on the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to monitor individual and departmental performance, as well as tracking overall company performance against strategic goals.
Communicate with customers about their pet(s) behavior and experience while under our care.
Receive payment by cash, check, credit card, gift card/vouchers, or automatic debits. Use of cash register and giving correct change to clients. Reporting and recording end of day cash reports daily in log.
Manage the maintenance of electronic and paper-based pet records.
Meet with staff as needed daily/weekly/monthly and encourage/build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Participation in physically demanding activities as needed, e.g., handling large dogs, lifting heavy food bags, etc.
Other duties as assigned by the President from time to time.
Education & Experience:
Education: A minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a similar type of business with proven success.
Technical Skills:
Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
General knowledge of various employment laws, practices, and employee relations.
Problem solving and analytical abilities.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
