Sr. Finance Director - Public Company & Capital Markets
Purpose of JobWe are seeking an experienced Sr. Finance Director with a strong background in investor relations, capital markets, and M&A to drive capital strategy, investor communications, and strategic transactions. This role will partner closely with executive leadership on capital strategy, investments, and M&A activities, working cross-functionally with the SEC reporting and FP&A teams to leverage their outputs.Job DescriptionPartner with the SEC reporting team on public company filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), earnings releases, and supporting disclosures — ensuring investor-facing narratives align with reported financials Maintain working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX to inform capital markets and M&A decisions Lead investor relations activities, including earnings calls, investor presentations, analyst communications, and shareholder engagement Support and execute capital markets activities, including equity/debt offerings, refinancing, and credit facility management Evaluate investment opportunities, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and return assessments Lead and support M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation support, and post-merger integration Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, legal counsel, banks, investors, and advisors Provide financial insights and strategic analysis to senior leadership to support decision-making Leverage FP&A outputs (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning) to support capital allocation, investor guidance, and M&A modeling Drive process improvements across investor relations, capital markets, and M&A workflows Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred (MBA a plus) 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience Strong working knowledge of SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and FP&A Direct experience with capital markets transactions (equity, debt, credit facilities) Proven experience in investment analysis, corporate development, and M&A execution Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comparable analysis, transaction modeling) Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions and cross-functional projects Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate in a fast-paced environment Preferred ExperienceBackground in investment banking, private equity, or Big 4 transaction advisory Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Workday) and financial reporting tools Exposure to e-commerce, technology, or retail industries is a mustEssential Mental & Physical FunctionMental Functions: Decisions may affect a work unit or area within a department.
