Made Possible.JOB LOCATIONFort Smith Plant 42JOB TITLESheeter OperatorJOB CATEGORYHourly Plant & MillsJob DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities:The beginning of the sheetfed process by converting paper rolls into sheeted stock that will then continue throughout the facility. Sheeting operator lead the helpers in the performance of equipment operations, adjustments, tests and conversions on all equipment associated with Sheeting operations. This process periodically requires the lifting and/or movement of many heavy job-related tools and materials. This process also requires troubleshooting of various issues as they arise. Managing time on the machine to maximize efficiency while completing all procedures and documentation regarding the Sheeting process in a safe manner.Safe Quality FoodsFollow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.Quality Ensures all products are manufactured to company/customer specificationsDocuments all defects and places materials in the appropriate area with correct labellingPerforms quality checks at predetermined intervals and records results in GainseekerPurging of work materials before beginning the new orderReporting DowntimeProcess and component scrapIssue and reversal of unprinted loads Confirmation of sheeted stockPerformance Have all required materials staged and ready .Lead the Make Ready process by communicating with crew and lift drivers on timing of performing duties to minimize makeready time.Must be able to direct Sheeter Helper in daily tasks to achieve department goals.Must be become familiar with technical aspects of sheeter and be able to troubleshoot if needed.Such as excessive curl, dull knives and biased cutsOperate machine at appropriate speed to obtain daily goal without sacrificing Safety or Quality.Other duties assignedPerform preventative maintenance at designated intervalsReport damaged goods to CI Mentor/training others to perform this job dutyPerform Daily Housekeeping tasksDaily pallet jack inspectionCleaning designated machine area/departmentEmptying recycling binsRe-stacking loads as requiredEnsure that New Hires or General Helpers assigned to the equipment are correctly/effectively trained to perform tasks related to operating and maintaining the Sheeter.Assist others as needed Required SkillsPosition Requirements: High school diploma or GEDSelf-Motivated Problem solving/critical thinkingAttention to detailOrganizational skillsWork well with others Communication while being open to giving and receiving critiques Desired QualificationsDisplay work habits that set an example for peers.Prior manufacturing experienceWork with others to help improve efficiency in all tasksIn the event of absence, the Sheeting Lead and/or Sheeting Helper would backfill this role.The candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
