We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an entry-level role ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in real estate accounting. The position focuses on transactional processing, reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close process under direct supervision.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform transactional processing, data entry, and basic account reconciliations.Focus on individual transactions and specific account assignments with a high level of accuracy.Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for the monthly close process.Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related supporting documentation.Review assigned accounts and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.Assist with financial reporting for subsidiary entities and support consolidation activities.Support accounting for new property acquisitions, including recording related transactions.Maintain loan compliance documentation and prepare schedules for debt compliance reporting.Provide analytical support for special projects and assist with financial analysis as needed.Utilize accounting systems and spreadsheets to process transactions and generate reports.Work under direct supervision, following established processes and procedures.QUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required(or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience)Required Experience/Skills0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships acceptable)Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAPStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systemsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environmentStrong communication skills and willingness to learnAbility to follow direction and work effectively under supervisionPHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSRegularly performs physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for grasping and coordination.Occasionally lifts, carries, pushes or pulls items up to 50 lbs.; climbs, balances, stoops, crouches, and works at heights up to 40 feet.May be exposed to varying environmental conditions including humidity, moving equipment, and, on rare occasions, extreme temperatures or airborne particles.WE'VE GOT YOU COVEREDCompetitive compensationExcellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision and other ancillary productsRetirement savings 401(k) planGenerous holiday and vacation packageProfessional development assistance
