About the JobMaterial Handler / Forklift Operator - Morning ShiftOpenwork's Houston branch is partnering with a well-established HVAC manufacturer and supplier to add a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to their growing operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong material handling experience who enjoys hands-on warehouse work and operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate and communicate with logistics technicians, sales representatives, service providers, and other team members involved in shipping and receiving operations.Load and unload incoming containers and outgoing truckload shipments, including HVAC parts, compressors, and complete systems.Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and organize materials safely and efficiently.Handle and move materials throughout the warehouse to support smooth daily operations.Tag parts and compressors according to company standards and procedures.Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations and warehouse best practices.Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.Qualifications:Extensive material handling experience in a warehouse environment is required.Minimum 2+ years of sit-down forklift experience.Experience operating large forklifts is strongly preferred.Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Comfortable using power tools and hand tools when needed.Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.Ability to follow instructions and work effectively on a team.Must be willing to consent to a background check and drug screen.Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.Pay:Up to $20.00 per hour, based on experienceSchedule:6:00 AM - 4:15 PM30-minute lunch breakAbility to work overtime as neededContract-to-hire opportunityPPE Requirements:Full ankle-support safety toe shoes (steel or composite) requiredAll other PPE provided by the companyBenefits Upon Permanent Hire:401(k) with profit sharing80 hours PTOSick timeMedical, Dental, Vision coverage (company contributes toward premiums)Long-Term Disability (LTD)Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)Employees enjoy a comfortable breakroom with lockers, granite countertops, and a coffee maker.
