Groundskeeping & Facilities Maintenance

Summary/ObjectiveThe Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds, landscaping, and outdoor infrastructure of the manufacturing facility to ensure a clean and professional setting while supporting safety and environmental compliance. This role includes year‑round grounds care and seasonal responsibilities with off‑season involvement in facility preventative maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility. The Groundskeeper will work both independently and collaboratively with the preventative maintenance and facilities teams to support general operations as needed.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Grounds MaintenancePerform upkeep of facility grounds including trimming, pruning, edging, raking, weeding, and general landscaping.Maintain outdoor walkways, parking lots, loading docks, and entry areas so they remain free of debris, ice, and hazards.Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, snow blowers, pressure washers, etc.Proper planting and maintenance of seasonal plantings, mulch, irrigation systems, and outdoor fixtures.Support storm cleanup, leaf removal, and seasonal landscape projects.Support Snow & Ice Control (Winter/Seasonal).Perform snow shoveling and salting of walks, docks, and entrance areas to ensure safe and compliant access to the facility.Facilities SupportAssist with equipment readiness checks and preventative maintenance documentation as directed. Includes routine inspections of facility systems (lighting, HVAC filters, exterior structures, fencing, drainage systems).Support preventive tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, tightening, and basic repairs of facility equipment.Support 5S/6S throughout the facility and grounds.Perform interior and exterior facility upkeep such as painting, patching, and minor repairs.Help move materials, furniture, or equipment as needed for facility projects.Collection and proper separation of waste to environmental and internal ISO criteria.Support operation of balers, raw material tote preparation, etc.Additional duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities1-3 years of groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance experience preferred.Ability to operate grounds equipment and basic maintenance tools.Basic mechanical aptitude; experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to seasonal needs.Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Work EnvironmentOutdoor work in all seasons, with periods of indoor work during winter/off-season.Frequent exposure to heat, moving mechanical parts, and possible fumes. Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee must stand 8-12 hours per day and is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds.
