EAC is a vibrant hub for artists, offering membership opportunities, art classes, gallery exhibitions, and a gift shop. The center hosts prominent community and national events, including the Downtown Springfield 2nd Friday Art Walk, the National Juried Show, and the Frank & Dotty Light Summer Youth Art Camp. It is also home to the renowned official "Simpsons" mural, a popular tourist attraction. EAC fosters creativity and artistic growth while enriching the local community through the arts.Role DescriptionThis part-time, Program Coordinator role, administers a wide range of programs andcommunity initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Emerald Art Center, the program coordinator supports instructors, staff, and committee members affiliated with programs, and directly supervisesseasonal staff.The Program Coordinator oversees planning and organizing of youth summer art camp, adult artsprogramming, and volunteer activities. Programming Coordinator should be knowledgable of arts education programs and materials. The role also involves maintaining clear communication with stakeholders, managing program budgets, and assisting with outreach efforts to promote initiatives.This position is ideal for someone interested in utilizing or expanding their experience in arts education, member, gallery, and program management.QualificationsStrong skills in Program Management and Program Development to plan and execute multiple initiatives effectivelyProficiency in Project Management to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables successfullyExcellent Communication and Customer Service skills to engage with a diverse community of artists, members, and visitorsDetail-oriented with organizational and time-management abilitiesPassion for the arts and experience in nonprofit or community-focused organizationsProficiency in administrative tools, basic budgeting, technology (Canva, Google forms, website management) and social media marketingBachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Arts Education, or a related field is preferred but not required
