Job Title Physics Faculty (Updated) Job DescriptionThe Physics Faculty is a full-time, 9-month position located primarily on the Old Charlotte Highway (OCH) Campus in Monroe, NC with a start date for Fall 2026. To ensure consideration, please apply by April 20.Reporting to the Chair for Mathematics and Natural Sciences, this position provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science programs. This individual has responsibility for teaching and learning, curriculum development, advising, professional development, institutional service, and community relations.Comprehensive Benefits Package to include health insurance with the NC State Health Plan for Teachers and State Employees, retirement benefits through the NC Retirement System, Paid Time Off, and a supplemental cafeteria plan.Essential Duties SummaryExhibit an uncompromising commitment to SPCC through the College's mission, vision, values, core skills and learning outcomes, and delivery of instruction and servicesDevelop learning strategies and curriculum that will promote successful teaching and learning Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning experiences, workforce development, and out-of-classroom activitiesActively participate in continuous improvement planning through the assessment of learning outcomes at the course and program levelsSelect and use appropriate learning materials and resources, including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning and to maintain program currencyStay current with developments in the field of technology and learning theoryParticipate in institutional, advisory, and program/instruction committees, campus activities, and representation of the college in the communityDevelop strong partnerships with appropriate community stakeholders in support of program and college improvementParticipate in program reviews, conduct research and surveys, and prepare updates, reports, and plansContinue professional development for the improvement of self and the programProvide accessibility to students and colleagues as expected in a learning-centered collegeAccept teaching assignments, based on the needs of the college, at one or more of the following: L.L.
