Hospice Massage Therapist Per Diem

Job Description:This position is responsible for performing massage therapy techniques for relaxation, pain management, or therapeutic purposes as discussed/recommended by the interdisciplinary care team. Techniques employed may include: Compassionate Touch, Everflowing* and other massage tecniques in the context of hospice care. Provide muscular therapy to promote relaxation, release of muscular tension, and an increase in body awareness. Also performs energy work such as Reiki, Healing Touch, and movement awareness/education.Job FunctionsAssess patients to determine effective methodologies.Reviews client's medical history, symptoms, and other relevant information before treatment.Applies appropriate technique to the patient.Consults with other members of the interdisciplinary team.Maintains records of treatments.Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsGraduate from an accredited Massage Therapy program or equivalentMeets state licensing laws and regulationsBoard Certification in therapeutic massage and body workMembership in ABMP or AMTAKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAble to work independently and organize tasksExhibit flexibility, self-control, and maturity in work and behaviorAbility to communicate effectively through written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above and to coordinate care within interdisciplinary care teamPreferred Qualifications3-5 years experience providing Massage Therapy for frail elders or in the context of hospiceIn-person oncology massage training by an S40M recognized education providerDementia trainingRemote TypeSalary Range:$51,138.47 - $71,594.07
