This intern position is designed to provide an on-the-job opportunity to gain "real world" work experience in a career-related professional workforce environment. This is an administrative internship program.Examples Of DutiesEssential Duties*Under the direction of the Public Information Officer and the Multi-Media Specialist, this intern position:Assists with setting up multimedia and video equipment.Assists with taking videos and photos for projects and conducting interviewsAssists with editing video using Adobe Creative Cloud programs.Assists with posting video projects to the City's communication platforms, including social media, website and government cable channel.May assist with live streaming public meetings, city events and proclamation ceremonies.Presents oneself and communicates in a professional manner.May also assist with photography, video and social media content for other departments as needed.QualificationsPreferred Skills:Familiarity with video and audio equipment is helpful, but not requiredAbility to shoot, edit and produce video content using Adobe Creative Cloud programs is preferred.Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere), and any experience with CapCut or FinalCut Pro for video production (non-linear editing) is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software is also ideal. Curiosity and ability to think creatively and flexibly.Desire to learnUnderstanding of professional etiquette as it relates to video/photo shoots, interviews, etc.Acceptable Experience & TrainingHigh School Intern:Be enrolled full-time in high schoolMust be classified as a Senior studentUndergraduate InternBe enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited college or universityMust be classified as an Undergrad student and provide an unofficial transcript and resumeMust have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0Graduate InternBe enrolled part-time or a recent graduate of an accredited college or universityMust be classified as a Graduate student and provide an unofficial transcript and resumeMust have minimum GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0Ability to: function as a member of a small, creative team with multiple responsibilities; organize work effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to work with general direction and exercise independent judgment. Strong attention to detail needed. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to learn and use software/apps for graphic design, image, and video editing. Ability to use general office equipment.Physical Ability to: Sitting, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, ability to maintain static posture for computer use, and driving.Functional Job Description: Must be 18+ years of age. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record. College students will be limited to working 20 hours per week with no time restrictions as long as it doesn't interfere with classes.
