Role Overview:
We are looking for a talented Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential technical expertise in database design, development, and implementation, ensuring that information storage and retrieval processes are optimized for performance and reliability. Your work will have a direct impact on our customers' success, as you will be responsible for creating innovative database solutions tailored to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, along with necessary database parser and loading software.
Assess long-range requirements for database administration and design, making informed decisions on data volumes, user counts, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security, and domain controls.
Engage actively with projects from inception through to system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC), ensuring that all requirements are met and documented.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather and refine requirements specific to business and IT subject areas, ranging from simple systems to complex architectures.
Provide insightful recommendations for system improvements, optimization strategies, and ongoing maintenance efforts.
Transform requirements and data into functional documents by creating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros. Regularly update existing queries and develop new ones to maintain and manage data effectively, culminating in the creation of a master file.
Build sophisticated systems utilizing queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity, and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.

Requirements:
Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities
Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development and/or maintenance efforts
Support the development of long and short term requirements for database administration and design
Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software
Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file
Assist in developing database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
Lead development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
Lead development of databases, database parser software, and database loading software
Develop requirement recommendations from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)
Develop a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls
Qualifications: Five (5) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
