Production Engineer (Elmhurst)

Job Summary: A growing manufacturing company is seeking a Production Engineer to support the transition of products from design to production while driving continuous improvement initiatives. This hands-on role works closely with production teams to troubleshoot issues, improve manufacturability, and support custom engineering projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide daily engineering support to production and test teams, including troubleshooting and technical guidance.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities focused on manufacturability, cost reduction, and product performance.Manage engineering change notices (ECNs) and support design updates.Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and piping diagrams.Review production work orders for accuracy and completeness.Validate new designs through testing and data collection.Develop and update CAD models and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.Improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and build practices.Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and other internal teams to support projects and customer needs.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and control systems.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).Preferred Qualifications:1–3 years of refrigeration or HVAC experience.Knowledge of PID loops and control logic.Prior project management or applications engineering experience.Additional Information:Hands-on role in a collaborative manufacturing environment.Opportunity for long-term growth and career development within a growing organization.
