ApplyDescriptionEnsures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other lift machinery to move items onto and off trucks, loading docks, or appropriate production areasReads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned jobObtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and/or materials to be shipped and for those receivedPacks materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specifications as neededIdentifies contents and number of products using proper labeling methodsArranges for shipments and communicates required delivery dates to carriersSeeks the most cost-effective methods to ship and maintain a current rate list for carriers as neededObtains correct receipts from carriers with full information confirming shipment and/or deliveryKeeps an accurate log of all shipmentsChecks incoming shipments of materials and goods to determine if they are the same as ordered, in quantity, quality, brand, and grade, and reports damaged goods to supervisorStores received materials in proper storage areasDelivers goods and materials to the proper requisitioning departmentTraces lost or delayed shipments and initiates claims for loss or damageChecks the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documentsMaintains good security habits at the dock doorsPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Hours may vary depending on departmental staffing needs.High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)1 - 3 years of previous material management experience preferredSafely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and any other lift equipment required for the job (following appropriate training)Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memosEffective communications skills with all levels within the organizationAbility to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problemsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formMust have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlinesBe organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervisionHas basic computer skillsPhysical RequirementsRequires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bendingPushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbsRequires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordinationRequires near visual acuityRequires working around and operating departmental equipmentMust be able to access and navigate each department in the facilityRequires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstancesMittera is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
