ApplyDescriptionEnsures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other lift machinery to move items onto and off trucks, loading docks, or appropriate production areasReads and understands the job ticket and other special instructions before beginning the assigned jobObtains and records accurate counts of finished products, goods, and/or materials to be shipped and for those receivedPacks materials in a manner that will ensure delivery without damage, following job jacket and/or customer packing specifications as neededIdentifies contents and number of products using proper labeling methodsArranges for shipments and communicates required delivery dates to carriersSeeks the most cost-effective methods to ship and maintain a current rate list for carriers as neededObtains correct receipts from carriers with full information confirming shipment and/or deliveryKeeps an accurate log of all shipmentsChecks incoming shipments of materials and goods to determine if they are the same as ordered, in quantity, quality, brand, and grade, and reports damaged goods to supervisorStores received materials in proper storage areasDelivers goods and materials to the proper requisitioning departmentTraces lost or delayed shipments and initiates claims for loss or damageChecks the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documentsMaintains good security habits at the dock doorsPerform other duties as assignedRequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
