We look forward to collaborating to help you achieve your career goals.About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to play a critical role in advancing our data platform and analytics capabilities. This is a top-priority hire with direct visibility to leadership due to its impact on operational performance, safety, and strategic decision-making.As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions that power mission-critical insights across aviation and healthcare operations. You will work across the full data stack—from backend architecture to front-end visualization—enabling agile, high-impact analytics. You will also partner closely with stakeholders, mentor fellow engineers, and help shape how data is delivered, trusted, and used end-to-end.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimize scalable data pipelines and ELT workflows within SnowflakeBuild and maintain efficient data models to support agile analytics and reportingDevelop and enhance Power BI dashboards for business stakeholdersImplement automated monitoring and performance optimization across the data pipelineLeverage Snowflake features (including DBT and notebooks) to modernize the data ecosystemPartner with cross-functional teams to deliver predictive analytics and machine learning solutionsIntegrate complex data sources (e.g., safety, maintenance, weather) to drive operational insightsSupport initiatives aimed at improving flight readiness, safety outcomes, and resource optimizationMentor engineers and champion data quality, trust, and best practices end-to-endKey ProjectsPredictive modeling for weather-related flight disruptionsRoot cause analysis of aircraft downtime using integrated operational dataAutomation and optimization of the ELT and data monitoring stackRequired QualificationsStrong expertise in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and working within Snowflake's cloud data platform (required)Experience with DBT and modern ELT frameworksAdvanced proficiency in Power BI for data visualizationSolid experience in predictive analytics and/or machine learningExperience working within Azure-based data environments (not AWS)Proven ability to work across both data engineering and analytics layersStrong understanding of scalable data modeling and performance optimizationStrong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience working with operational or real-time data environmentsBackground in aviation, healthcare, or other high-reliability industriesFamiliarity with transitioning legacy ETL tools to modern data stacksProficiency in SQL and PythonFamiliarity with BI and dashboarding tools beyond Power BI (e.g., Tableau, Looker)Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: ~$150,000Annual Bonus: Target 10% (historically strong payout performance)Fully remote with flexible work hours aligned to Mountain TimePreference for candidates in the Denver area for occasional in-person collaborationWhy This Role MattersThis position directly contributes to our mission by enabling data-driven decisions that improve safety, operational efficiency, and patient outcomes.
