Seeking an Inpatient Clinical Psychiatrist who would also serve as the Medical Director for the Behavioral Science Unit. The Medical Director provides general oversight of operations for the BSU and associated medical & support staff on clinical issues and patient care questions that arise during program operations. This candidate would: ? Oversee all aspects of the Medical & AHP staff with the Administrative Director & Department Chair ? Drive Medical & AHP staff performance assessments and reviews, including the use of such tools as analytics & dashboards ? Assist with oversight of staffing levels, performance, and accountability ? Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state laws & regulations, meeting the requirements and responsibilities of the Medical Director under NYCRR Title 14 part 580, and NYS Mental Hygiene Law ? Assist with the planning & implementation of the performance improvement program ? Function as a consultant, when needed to other Psychiatrists and AHPs admitting patients to the BSU ? Ensure coverage of the BSU at all times by a qualified Psychiatrist member of the Medical Staff You will be joining our 210+ member multi-specialty practice where you will be supported by the exceptionally capable & experienced nurses and social workers in the 25-bed BSU which is certified by NYS OMH. Affiliated with an Osteopathic Medicine College; training programs include numerous Primary and Specialty care Residencies and Fellowships including a Psychiatry Residency program.
