The team
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Project Manager/Engineering Manager to join our growing team. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from concept to delivery, while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
The role
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Orchestrate collaboration across teams, removing roadblocks and fostering open communication.
Provide a software development roadmap that aligns with future stakeholder/client needs and leverages cutting-edge technologies.
Independently prioritize stakeholder/client requests and think strategically.
Project Management:
Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
Develop realistic project plans/schedules and track team progress towards milestones and deliverables.
Own the project schedule, maintaining and updating it as necessary to meet changing needs.
Facilitate team meetings (including agendas, minutes, and action items) to promote decision-making, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and team engagement.
Follow up on action items to ensure project stays on track.
Escalate unexpected events impacting project schedule, budget, and resources to management.
Manage and resolve conflicts with stakeholders.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the project SDLC.
Team Leadership & Coaching:
Build, guide, and coach the Scrum team on Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products.
Facilitate and support all Scrum events (e.g., sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives).
Take complete ownership of the project delivery process.
Work effectively with individual team members and clients.
Foster an environment of continuous learning and development for team members.
Technical Expertise:
Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by your teams.
Possess experience with Cloud Native Application Development (AWS).
Demonstrate the ability to understand and explain issues from both a technical and a business perspective.
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
Maintain excellent listening, negotiation, presentation, and organizational skills.
Keep the project team well-informed about the current status and any changes.
Facilitate communication with extended team members.
Provide regular project updates to management, including risk mitigation plans.
What you'll bring
Qualifications
10+ years of experience working in product development organizations, with a proven track record of developing enterprise-scale products in a highly Agile/Scrum environment.
Demonstrated experience working successfully with cross-functional teams to deliver software.
Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum Master preferred).
Hands-on experience with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Azure Dashboards.
Experience in (one of) Application Development, Application Modernization, Platform Engineering, or Developer Experience.
Experience with modeling business processes.
Ability to multitask, manage, and coordinate complex client engagements while maintaining service levels and timelines.
Technical and in-depth project management style.
Self-motivated, team player, action and results-oriented.
Well-organized with strong communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $120k-$140k base+ bonus.
The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Services bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
