Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Empower students with visual impairments to reach their full potential through dedicated, in-person instruction across multiple district locations. This full-time, contract opportunity invites you to provide specialized educational support for students with various levels of visual impairment, making a meaningful impact during the 2026-27 school year. Hours typically range from 37.5 to 40 weekly, with scheduling aligned to the school calendar, starting in mid to late August and concluding in late May or early June (specific dates will be finalized soon).Key Qualifications:Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually ImpairedPrior experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairmentsStrong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional strategiesExcellent communication skills for collaborating with families and school teamsAbility to travel between multiple school sites within the districtFlexibility and adaptability to respond to changing student and school needsPrimary Responsibilities:Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with vision needsAssess student abilities and develop tailored educational plansCollaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to ensure successful learning experiencesAdvocate for appropriate accommodations and resources for studentsConduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for educational accessEngage caregivers and participate in IEP meetings to align educational strategiesWorking as a contract educator in this role, you'll be supported by a caring professional community and gain experience serving diverse learners across various district sites.
