Project Architect

The ideal candidate has a good design sense, a solid technical knowledge base, effective project organization skills and an intelligent client management approach.Responsibilities:Direct each phase of project from pre-design through construction administrationProvide functional layout/design consultation, working directly with the design principalResearch and document zoning restrictions and opportunitiesProvide technical guidance to staff on project executionSolicit and evaluate proposals from consultantsOversee preparation of deliverables; monitor work of consultants to seamlessly deliver drawings and specifications for permit and constructionPrepare project manual and specificationsOversee technical staff during construction administration; attend construction phase meetings when required; evaluate change orders, RFIs, submittals and payment certificatesAct as client liaison for design, goals, budget, modificationsBuild and maintain client relationshipsAssist with proposal preparation for architectural design servicesAct as primary point of contact with client during project executionManage client expectations and communications regarding project feesCreate and maintain project scheduleDevise work plan, allocating hours and monitoring progressManage contracts with consultantsArticulate design concepts or solutions to clientsNegotiate critical issues with representatives from other organizationsLead project meetings and prepare meeting minutesProvide mentoring for junior staff to grow the institutional capacity of the firmParticipate in Quality Assurance process on projects across the officeEssential Requirements:Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M.
