Computer Network Technician
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Computer & Network Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' IT infrastructure across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and beyond. This role requires strong hands-on experience with computer systems, IP networking, structured cabling, and a customer-first attitude. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently at client sites as well as remotely.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to end-users via help desk and on-site services, ensuring timely resolution of issues
Deploy, configure, and maintain Ubiquiti networking equipment including UniFi Access Points, Access Control, and Protect (surveillance/security)
Deploy and manage Fortinet firewall solutions for clients
Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments including user setup, licensing, and troubleshooting
Troubleshoot software, hardware, VPN connectivity, and firewall configurations
Assist in the setup and configuration of IT infrastructure including LANs and servers
Run and terminate Cat5e/Cat6 structured cabling
Maintain documentation of IT processes, procedures, and client configurations
Collaborate with team members to improve IT services and enhance the client experience
Travel to client sites across our service territory, with occasional overnight stays as needed
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in a help desk, desktop support, or MSP role
Strong knowledge of Windows; macOS and Linux familiarity a plus
Good working knowledge of IP networking concepts and technologies (LAN/WAN)
Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi products (WiFi, Access, Protect) preferred
Fortinet firewall experience a plus
Microsoft 365 administration experience
Experience running and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling
VOIP knowledge a plus
Excellent communication and customer service skills — you will be the face of Micro Advantage at client sites
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Must have stable, reliable transportation
Valid driver's license required
Must reside in Ohio — preference given to candidates in the Mid-Ohio area
Compensation
$50,000 – $75,000 per year, depending on experience

Work Location: On the road / Client sites throughout OH, WV, PA, and IN
Must be able to travel to client sites throughout Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Candidates located in the Mid-Ohio area preferred.
