Platform Architect

This is an opportunity to make a significant architectural impact while working with cutting-edge cloud technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and a highly collaborative engineering team.This is not a greenfield design role. We're looking for someone who enjoys evaluating complex production systems, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing practical, scalable solutions that enhance reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.What You'll DoEvaluate and mature an existing cloud platform architecture.Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.Lead architecture across Azure, AWS, and government cloud environments.Develop and improve microservices, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.Partner with engineering, product, data science, and client teams to deliver production-ready solutions.Drive best practices in deployment automation, observability, security, and system reliability.Utilize modern AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to accelerate design and implementation.What We're Looking For10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on platform or systems architecture.Strong hands-on development experience with Python and at least one additional language such as Java or C#.Expertise designing cloud-native applications within Azure and/or AWS environments.Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, REST APIs, and microservices.Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, and C-CDA.Experience designing secure, HIPAA-compliant production environments.Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across cross-functional teams.Demonstrated success improving existing enterprise platforms rather than building solely from scratch.Preferred ExperienceGovernment or regulated healthcare environments.AWS GovCloud or Azure Government.CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.Healthcare analytics, machine learning platforms, or large-scale data processing.Exposure to Pega platform integrations is a plus.Why This Opportunity?Work on technology that directly improves healthcare outcomes.Collaborate with an exceptionally talented engineering and data science team.Influence the future architecture of an enterprise healthcare platform.Flexible remote work environment.Contract engagement with strong potential for long-term opportunities.Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.Interested?If you're a hands-on Platform Architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to help shape the future of healthcare technology, we'd love to hear from you.Please apply with your resume and a brief summary of your experience modernizing cloud platforms and enterprise architectures.
