Senior Product Manager, Planner

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and you will report to a Group Product Manager.ResponsibilitiesDevelop roadmap and determine product requirements for planner, leveraging product insight and drive alignment across the companyWork on Planner, AI/ML technologies that enable Waymo's Driver to scale in domestic and international markets, and across many hardware platformsWork with other PMs and cross functional teams to identify the long term product focus areas, and steer technology and engineering efforts to address themThoroughly investigate data from real-world miles collected by our fleet, define requirements and guide the team to make the right trade-offs between capability, engineering complexity and other factorsAlign and work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Operations, System Engineering, and other Waymo teams to bring to market products that save lives and transform transportationQualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, similar technical field or equivalent practical experience5+ years of relevant product management experience.The ability to gather and dissect large quantities of information, identify issues and trends and turn them into a thoughtful and compelling product vision and technical strategy/decisionsProven ability to dig deep into a problem by utilizing technical tools and deep technical understandingStrong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teamsExperience setting own goals and effectively delivering to them in a very fast-changing environment as well as flourish in ambiguityPreferred QualificationsA Master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline, MBA, or equivalent experience in Robotics or Machine LearningPrior product experience in AV, ML or RoboticsExperience delivering products with new technology introductionPassion and motivation by making the world a better place through technology, and wanting to be part of a team that makes this happenThe expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
