This role is responsible for inspecting electrical and low-voltage/IT systems within public works rights-of-way, buildings, tenant improvement projects, and civil/electrical construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, safety regulations, and LAWA requirements.Work Schedule: Option 1: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMWork Schedule: Option 2: Sunday 10:30 PM – Friday 7:00 AM (overnight shift)Location: Los Angeles, CA (LAWA)This is an Onsite position.Required Certifications / TrainingCurrent ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical InspectorCAL OSHA 30-hour (completed within the last 3 years) NFPA 13 training and certificate completion NFPA 70E standards (proof required) Fall Protection and Harness TrainingKey Responsibilities: Perform inspections in public works rights-of-way, buildings, tenant improvement renovations, and civil electrical work.Verify construction complies with approved plans/specifications, applicable electrical/low-voltage codes, safety regulations, and LAWA requirements.Inspect electrical rough and finish work, including (but not limited to):Underground utilitiesHigh voltage gear and electrical panels400 Hz conduit racksConductors, grounding systems, breakersInterior/exterior lightingFire life safety systems (smoke/heat sensors, FM-200 installations)Lock-out/tag-out requirementsElectrical panel shutdownsIT/low-voltage systems: door card readers, security cameras, communications/P.A. systems, etc.Maintain strong documentation practices:Write clear, concise inspection documentation depicting daily progressTrack changes, verify time-and-material work, measure/document job quantitiesMay assist with monthly progress payment requests, depending on assignmentUtilize electronic systems and documents (change orders, submittals, RFIs, inspection logs, etc.) efficiently with minimal supervision.Support a positive project environment by working effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, contractors, and non-construction personnel.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma (or equivalent)3+ years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections 3+ years of experience performing electrical/IT inspections for building construction For Airfield assignments: 3+ years of experience with airfield lighting (required) Basic computer proficiency including: Microsoft WordExcelEmailRequired Certifications / TrainingCurrent ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical InspectorCAL OSHA 30-hour (completed within the last 3 years) NFPA 13 training and certificate completion NFPA 70E standards (proof required) Fall Protection and Harness TrainingWorking Hours & Location: Full-time and exempt roleWork Schedule: Option 1: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMWork Schedule: Option 2: Sunday 10:30 PM – Friday 7:00 AM (overnight shift)Location: Los Angeles, CA (LAWA)This is an Onsite position.May be required to work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, based on contractor activities and accelerated project schedules.
