Paraprofessional

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and student development in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will assist teachers in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and providing individualized support to students with diverse needs. This role is vital in fostering a positive learning environment that promotes academic growth and social-emotional development for children of various ages, including those with special needs or disabilities. Prior experience in early childhood education, childcare, or working with children with autism is highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student success while gaining valuable experience in education and classroom management. Responsibilities Assist teachers with lesson planning and curriculum development across subjects such as literacy, math, and behavior management. Support classroom management by maintaining a structured, safe, and engaging environment for students. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to individual student needs, including children with autism or disabilities. Support early childhood education initiatives, including toddler care, preschool activities, and Montessori-based learning. Help implement behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation. Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and managing instructional resources. Foster inclusive learning experiences for students with diverse backgrounds and abilities, including working with students in daycare or private school settings. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff to support student progress and well-being. Support students' social-emotional development through positive reinforcement and encouragement. Skills Strong understanding of special education principles and childhood development theories. Experience with lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Knowledge of literacy education, math instruction, behavior management strategies, and working with children with autism or disabilities. Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school environments, or similar settings. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and students. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners across different age groups including toddlers and preschoolers. Demonstrated patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills essential for working with children of varying abilities. Familiarity with Montessori methods or early childhood education frameworks is a plus.
