Director of Accounting

Director of Accounting We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and strengthen the accounting function during an exciting period of growth and operational expansion. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to drive process improvements, build scalable infrastructure, and support strategic business initiatives.The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in manufacturing accounting, operational finance, and team leadership, along with the ability to operate in a hands on, fast paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingOversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, consolidations, and financial statement preparationManage and mentor accounting staff while helping build scalable processes and controlsPartner cross functionally with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to support business performance and decision makingOversee inventory accounting, standard costing, cost analysis, and manufacturing variance reportingEnsure compliance with US GAAP and maintain strong internal controls across accounting operationsSupport budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and operational analysis initiativesCoordinate external audits, tax support, and relationships with outside advisorsDrive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives across the finance and accounting functionAssist with ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and special projects tied to growth initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilitiesPrior experience within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments requiredStrong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and operational finance conceptsExperience leading month end close and financial reporting functions within complex environmentsProven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate effectively in a fast paced settingERP system experience required; experience with larger ERP platforms preferredStrong communication skills with the ability to partner across both finance and operations
